Walther Gold, Silver & Bronze in Rio Olympics

German shooter, Henri Junghänel, won Gold at the 2016 Rio Olympics in the Men’s 50m Rifle Prone event using his Walther KK300 .22 rifle.

In the men’s 10m Air Rifle event Ukrainian shooter, Serhiy Kulish, won Silver using his Walther LG400 .177 air rifle while bronze went to Russian shooter Vladimir Maslennikov, using his Walther LG400 .177 air rifle.

European Games Gold for Walther

Vitali Bubnovich from Belarus won Gold in the Men’s 10m Air Rifle event at the first ever European Games held in Baku, Azerbaijan in June. Using his Walther LG400 Alutec air rifle, the three-time Olympian won with his very last shot.

“I qualified in fifth for the finals, and then in the finals I knew I could prove myself. I will never forget that last shot which made me a champion. To be honest, getting the bronze at the world championship was a big thing and it was unforgettable for me, but I will never forget the 16th June either.” said Bubnovich (pictured in between Silver Medallist Niccolo Campriani, left, and Bronze medallist Sergey Richter, right).

Damir Mikec from Serbia also won Gold in the Men’s 10m Air Pistol event using his Walther LP300 air pistol, and Henri Junghänel from Germany won Gold in the Men’s 50m KK Prone rifle event using his Walther KK300 Alutec.

Other shooters who stood on the podium in Baku included:

Sarah Hornung from Switzerland won Silver in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle event using her Walther LG400 Alutec.

Sergey Richter from Israel won Bronze in the Men’s 10m Air Rifle event using his Walther LG300XT Alutec

World Cup USA Gold & Rio Olympic quota for Stefanovic

Milutin Stefanovic, from Serbia, claimed Gold in the Men’s 10m Air Rifle event at the ISSF World Cup USA held in Fort Benning in May. At the same time, he secured his ticket to Rio 2016 by winning a quota place for Serbia.

“It’s amazing! The policy of our team is that who wins the Olympic quota goes to the Games. I am going to Rio, to my first Olympic Games!” an excited Stefanovic said. Stafanovic uses a Walther LG400 air rifle.

Vladimir Isakov from the Russian Federation won Silver in the Men’s 10m Air Pistol event using his Walther LP400 air pistol.
