Master locksmith Johann Ulrich Hämmerli established his family company in Lenzburg, Switzerland, in 1863 when he was ordered to manufacture barrels for the Swiss army. Inspired by this work, the Hämmerli family devoted its workmanship, its experience and its engineering skills to making Swiss marksmen world-famous.
In 1897, the Swiss won the first World Shooting Championships using Hammerli guns. Since then, Hammerli firearms have featured consistently on the winner’s podium at the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, World Championships and World Cups.
Hammerli has been one of the most innovative companies in sporting gun design for many years now. However, these developments would never have been possible without the close cooperation they share with top national and international athletes. Hammerli aims to intensify that cooperation even further and to ensure further success at the next Olympics and beyond.
Hammerli was acquired by Carl Walther GmbH in 2006 and is a member of the PW Group.
